I am having issues with bullying in my flock. From what I have observed, the pecking order is this, and I included breif discriptions of them:
1. Auntie Chook(Black Australorp)-very large bird, pretty docile and super chatty, oldest hen(5yrs old)
2. Blackbird(Black Star)-medium sized, super docile, older hen(also 5yrs old)
3. Mischeif(Barred Rock)-pretty big, 3 yrs old, shy around humans
4.Wonder Woman(Brahma)-huge huge bird, sort of shy around humans, 3 yrs old
5. Gracie(Auracana)- scrawny, jumpy and nervous, 3 yrs old
They are all hens. The bottom hen, Gracie, is constantly bullied by mainly Wonder Woman but also Mischief. She has many feathers missing in her tail and some around her wings as a result of the pecking from Wonder Woman. She gets chased around all the time and when I throw scratch to them she rarely eats with them. Often she hides in the roost the majority of the day, or if she does decide to come out, she goes in way early so she is allowed a spot. A couple of times, we found her roosting on the picnic table because the other hens wouldn't let her in to roost. Auntie Chook and Blackbird don't seem to be the problem, just Wonder Woman mostly and occasionally Mischeif. I think maybe Wonder Woman is trying not to be at the bottom but I dont see how she is that close to being at the bottom anyways becuase she is huge. We've tryed isolating Gracie, and that didn't seem to work, so then we tried isolating Wonder Woman, and that didn't seem to work either. I'm concerned it could escalate further, so is there anything else I could try to stop the bullying?
