My horse issues

View attachment 1604688 This is Will this August, not bad for an older guy, huh?! From then, he’s gotten more ribby, which is what pricks my attention
He's pretty fancy alright! Got a soft spot for Arabians since learning to jump on a sassy senior many years ago. He looks good here, little lean but good and healthy. Try the senior feed and see of he will eat mash,or mash w/ beet pulp. Might get the vet to do a blood panal and CBC to get a baseline reading on his organ function. Can't hurt...

Right on! :)

Excellent suggestions from everyone. I'm no Veterinarian but my first thought with the words "22" "Arab" "weightloss" is Cushings. Therefore, I completely agree with all who suggest bloodwork. Even if it all comes back normal at least you can cross that off your list.

If he is out with other horses during feeding, you might want to separate him from the others as he could just be a slower eater and doesn't get as much as he should.

Good luck to you.

Haven’t thought of Cushings, more like didn’t want to. I’ll really consider bloodwork. He has no external signs of cushings, though I know it can be subtle with the pituitary glands.
