My isa brown just died! My dog jumped off the trampoline landing on my chicken Hazel breaking her foot. So, two days later my parents took me and her to the vet, and she wouldn't recover so I had to put her down. I feel like I had failed her. I rescued Hazel from my school. She was the last one of her flock to survive. She was treated meanly cause the boys at my school treated her like a footy. (Aussie football) When I took her home, she heard my other 2 chickens when she was in quarntine and was so excited. when we introduced then she was so happy and followed them everywhere. My other two chickens where not impressed. Then she followed me around and loved to help garden. By garden I mean ruin ny piles of weeds and steal all the worms from my garden. When I would mow the lawn, I had to keep her locked up because she would try and hop on the mower and ride it. She also loved to hunt crickets with me and the sound she made when she ate them was disgusting. She would constantly try to follow me into the house and my mum hates chickens so I would get in trouble. Love you Hazel I hope to see you in heaven when it is my time. R.I.P Hazel I planted a lavender bush on her grave. Now down to two chickens.
