Using a cage trap can make trapping a fox difficult. I put a leg hold trap in the spot where the fox was going under the fence and had success quickly both times I had a fox problem.

Using these types of traps, unfortunately, is illegal in California. The law is stated in a way that pretty much eliminates all other options other then cage traps
