I'm glad I'm not the only one who calls the bully a heifer!
I don't have any that are bad with me,but I have two that are hard on the young ones.

Here's my tiny little guy. He's got a ways to go before I can call him a rooster.

@Willowspirit I was working all yesterday and just read the thread updates. how are the babies coming along btw?!
My SFH are only about a week old and when I went in there yesterday to check on them one was missing. I got worried until I seen the little bugger on the floor. I have an old window screen that I put over my brooder so on it went...They are doing great! One flew out of the brooder box already! We put a grill over it. They are lively and healthy and very active. And cute as anything. New pix soon.
What do you think of sapphire gems in general? When it's time to get some replacements, I'm thinking of getting some. I always liked the blue color in poultry. I don't know much about sapphire gems because they are pretty new. But I've read that they are a sex-link hybrid produced by mating an Andalusian (splashed?) rooster to barred plymouth rock hens. I'm guessing a splashed Andalusian rooster because I'm not sure a blue or a black one would produce the desired effect of all hens with blue plumage and roosters with light barring.
