Hello everyone! Just wan tot share a personal experience with you, because I think it will also be helpful in your case! Our friends had a problem with complaints because they weren't supposed to keep a rooster. But of course, they procrastinated. There solution, they went online, with our help and registered there Roo as an emotional support, or service rooster! They had to pay to get it registered, but it worked! They didn't get rid of the Roo, and they got complained about. Honestly, I do think that animal control, and the police came to there house once, but they showed them the papers, and complained, and they got to keep the Roo! I had to share this, thought that that might be something you all would like to know, if you want a Rooster, but can't have one! Hope this helps! Avery

They can make you get rid of it. An emotional support animal MEANS NOTHING when you don’t have doctor documents to back it up. A rooster CANNOT be a certified service animal, it can’t be trained to do anything for a human that a service dog does, especially a rooster.

Any animal can be an emotional support animal even a goldfish, but claiming an animal is an emotional support animal will not stop the law or ordinances that say you cannot have a rooster when you don’t have documentation from an actual Dr.

Honestly, doing things like this dumbs down what the TRUE MEANING of an actual service animal or ESA is. Emotional support animals weren’t heard of until quite recently when everyone decided that they wanted to trick stores and such to allowing their dog in the store, this is considered abusing a system thats Good thing most stores know the difference and most animal control personnel. I’m glad our animal control is run by sheriffs, they’d laugh hysterically if someone tried to pull this on them.

People who do not follow laws or ordinances are people who ruin it for other chicken owners who do.

How can you do this and feel okay about it? There are people out there who actually NEED this support and can’t get it because of people who abuse the role of a ESA.
