I have a leghorn rooster - he's in good condition and lives with lots of hens that he sure does seem to like... but he crows ALL night long. I mean, he crows on and off during the day, which I don't mind at all, but lately, he's been crowing straight on from like 2-3am until day break.
Now bless his little heart if he's just trying to make the sun come up, but we've got a "street light" on our farm property that is on all night long and I don't know if that's making him crazy, thinking he's inside during the day?
Does anyone have any suggestions of what I could do to appease him at night? Could he be uncomfortable with the other birds in there? They're completely locked down at night so no predators can mess with them at all, so I don't think he's calling out a warning...
Also, our rooster (Red) is our favorite bird, so getting rid of him isn't an option. I'll keep the window closed if that's what I have to do to get some sleep, but I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to maybe make him "happier" so he's not crowing constantly?? Thanks!
