Thank you for pushing back my shipping day and not notifying me, I've wasted all morning glued to my chair waiting for my phone call. I'm sorry that I had to call you to find this out, also for for the fact that you won't share the actual tracking number with me. I was hoping for a good experience for my very first hatchery order, but it was not. I hope all the chicks I got yesterday afternoon, anticipating my shipment this morning, will accept these hatchery chicks into the flock. Had that once, hated it, had hope to fix it by strategically aligning my ordered chicks. I guess the old adage is true, Don't count your chicks before they hatch!

Have to say I did receive my chicks, and all were accounted for and alive, plus 3 extra. They look healthy, I am happy but still wish they would have notified me of the change in shipping, I had been waiting around for my phone call that was never going to come :(

I just ordered some day old chicks from Meyers Poultry Farm. My first time ordering though them. The initial communication is good. The ordering process transitioned well. I was originally told my order would not ship untill March. I was fine with that since it's cold in January and will stay cold until end of February. However, to my surprise, I got a call and was told my order will ship in a week. I told my 10 years old daughter and she was so excited she couldn't sleep. The day came 1/17/18 and the order shipped. I called to inform my local USPO too be on the lookout and to call me when they arrive. Friday 1/19/18 came and it was the big day. I got a call from my local USPO and got off work early to go pick up my new chicks. Got to the post office and got my order. A very light box. A very silent light box. I was terrified to look. But had to. All 25 chicks dead! The post office told me to contact the people I ordered it from. I called Myers and no answer. So I left a voice mail. I called again later, no answer. So I decided to take pictures and send them an email. Still no answer. I'm going to be the bigger man and give them time to reply. I'll update on the status. I'm hoping they correct the situation. Either refund my order or send me a new order to replace these dead chicks. I'm hopeful they will do the right thing. Update coming next week.

How awful! Definitely update, I'm placing an order with them next month. I live close enough to pick the chicks up BUT if they treat customers like this I'll order elsewhere!

I did get a phone call back and they said they would replace the order. The replacement order is scheduled to ship end of this month. I'm concerned it will still be too cold for those day old chicks to survive the 3 day trip. But we will see how they arrive. They did mention there were other orders that yield the same results as mine. I will update again soon. Thanks.

Why are they shipping in January?? That seems like a recipe for disaster. I hope you get a new order later in the year when it's warmer. :hmm :hugs

That's what USPO and I said. USPO quoted "they should know better". I did tell them I am okay waiting until March. But if the chicks can survive the trip, I am ready. My daughter and I have the brooder ready and hooked up with heat lamp, heat pad and feeders.
