Mystery Bantam Chicks- Blue Old English?

My daughter had some chicks in her class, and we could not resist taking two of them home. We don't know anything about bantams- so we of course, don't know what they are. The eggs they hatched from were white. One is a silver color with grey feet, the other black with white spots on its wings and face and yellow feet. It looks like they will both have single combs. Here are some photos. They are two and 1/2 weeks old:

Are Old English good pets for children? How big do they get?

I have 5 laying hens- how soon can I put them together??

Many would say that OEGB make good pets; they are small, so children need to be supervised.
