Mystic Maran (chick days at Tractor Supply)

I got 4 Mystic Maran chicks today at tractor supply . Does anyone have any pictures of their Mystic Maran eggs? anxious to see.

I've had Marans that lay dark brown eggs, & wanted a few more, so summer 2022 I got some chicks at Tractor Supply, that the label overhead had read "Marans". Well, I think they're actually Australorps, as their eggs are light brown. I'm ok with them, they're sweet hens, but I like the color variations, so going to have to get a couple more true Marans soon.

Anyway...I hope yours were sorted & labeled correctly. The chick breeds do look very similar to eachother, so I can't really blame the Tractor Supply employees, I thought they were Marans, too.




Here are some photos of the eggs my sweet hens lay. The darkest brown are from my Marans. I'm not positive what "type" of Marans I have...I thought they were Copper Marans. I have no confidence in labels now! Lol

They should be a warm brown, not chocolate like an actual marans would lay.

I love the dark brown eggs. Your eggs are pretty! I hope they were labeled correctly too, they all have feathered feet, so I’m thinking they are Mystic Marans. I definitely want to get some black Copper Marans, I have had a hard time finding any.
