Natural worm treatment

Hi. Recently a fellow Aussie posted about their experience with worming (gapeworm particularly) on the forum:
https://www.backyardchickens.com/th...-do-and-what-not-to-do.1506802/#post-25280370

They listed a specific powder form wormer that can be mixed with food available in Aus. It is expensive, but like you, water based wormers can be tricky to convince hens to drink. I ordered mine from here:

Good luck!

Thank you so much Big Aspirations!
I'm currently checking them out and counting my pennies :eek:to see whether I can afford it. I'm so relieved to hear there are other options out there, not just liquid :thumbsup

If you know other people with chickens I reckon it would be wise to try split an order. I did the maths on how many doses I will get for the 600g container. With 17 birds eating 100g of food per day (they free range so pellet eating is small for us) and 7 days of treatment, and mixing in 5g per 5kg of food (rounding up here) I’ve got 50 weeks of doses in the 600g?! So if I worm them every 6 months, that’s 25 years of worm-killing power in one container. Seems I either a. Need more chickens (a lot more) or b. Offer to worm every chicken within a 50km radius. It hasn’t arrived for me to see what the expiry date is on it but I am supposing it won’t be 25 years.
