I am so overwhelmed by my broccoli - some recipes for using it would be great. I have it frozen and have been eating it and giving it away and once again my sink is full of broccoli to wash.

broccolli salad yummy. we looove it here.

10 slices bacon
1 head fresh broccoli, cut into bite size pieces
1/4 cup red onion, chopped
1/2 cup raisins
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons white sugar
1 cup mayonnaise
1 cup sunflower seeds

DIRECTIONS
1.Place bacon in a large, deep skillet. Cook over medium high heat until evenly brown. Drain, crumble and set aside.
2.In a medium bowl, combine the broccoli, onion and raisins. In a small bowl, whisk together the vinegar, sugar and mayonnaise. Pour over broccoli mixture, and toss until well mixed. Refrigerate for at least two hours.
3.Before serving, toss salad with crumbled bacon and sunflower seeds.

oh and broccolli cheese soup is always yummy too.

I was going to post this same one. I replace the sunflower seeds with pinenuts and the raisen with craisens - just personal taste preference. I also add the onion, craisens, nuts and bacon to the mayo mixture BEFORE tossing with brocoli. and thelonger youcan let it marinate the better.

a fast and easy cheese sauce is 1 can cambels chedder cheese soup mixed with 1 pint of sour cream and 1 cube of butter. stir and heat then poor over steamed brocoli.

and our favorite is lemon butter poured over steamed broc.

Try roasting it in the oven. Drizzle it with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Roast in a 400 degree oven for about 10 to 15 minutes or until tender. It's soooooo good! The florets get all browned and crispy.

A japanese staple is steamed brocolli that is then chilled to keep it sort of crunchy, served as an appetizer with a sort of thousand island dressing. Very good. Another way to serve it would be Brocolli Gomae, gomae meaning a sauce of toasted sesame seeds, some soy sauce and a little sugar. Crush up the sesame seeds and sugar in a mortar and then add the soy sauce, best to use Tamari, a naturally fermented soy sauce that is not as salty tasting... Originally I have had spinach gomae, which is to die for. You can use the gomae sauce over cold (blanched) green beans or asparagus spears. SO GOOD
