Need Help: Hen With Swollen Neck

Hello,

Today, we found one of our hens (2yrs old) with a swollen neck. She is moving slowly but is still walking around and eating some. She also looks like she has diarrhea. Is there anything I can do for her at home? Should I separate her from the rest of the flock? Please advise. I look forward to your help. Thank you.

Does her neck feel like there is air under the skin like a balloon? Her crop looks very enlarged. How does the crop feel—soft and puffy, hard, or doughy? Can you check it again in early morning before she eats or drinks to see if it is emptying. If there is air where the neck is puffed up, it could be a leaking air sac.

Were you originally talking about the back of her neck being swollen, or the enlarged chest (crop?) Her crop may be from a pendulous crop. Here is some reading about that and how to treat it:

Her chest, it on the right so maybe it's her crop? I will checkout the links. Thank you.
