need help with goat with frothy bloat- ***updated with questions on post #5***

I missed this thread earleir. The best thing I have found to treat bloat is Gas X. Before I learned about Gas X, I used all the reccommended treatments out there for bloat including Thera- Bloat, trocar, and oil. The usual result was the goat died in my arms. After I started using Gas X I don't recall ever losing another goat to simple bloat. BTW, often bloat is a symptom of entero, and without a prompt dose of antitoxin the animal will probably die. All goat owners should have entero antitoxin and Gas X in their medicine kit at all time. The onset of either is a true emergency and prompt treatment is vital.

I've been having problems with frothy bloat. I realize all these posts are old, but was researching and just found this site. Didn't realize it was a chicken sight, but that's okay I want my chicken tractor soon anyways. Haven't had my goats long. Bought them from an older gentleman whose wife was sick. When he found out I was going to buy his whole herd, he was so happy he gave me $2000 in equipment and medicines. Best I can call him night or day for help. My yoda. The best thing he has told me is his concoction for goat magic. Equal parts corn oil (has to be corn) kayo syrup, molasses. If for whatever reason they dont feel good it is a wonder remedy. And it tastes good. He also told me to have free choice baking soda. So if they have a Tommie ache they will help themselves. Have been having a problem with frothy bloat. In Florida raining every day. Pastures out of control. Banamine, goat magic, maalox. Gas x, great idea. Just wanted to share that. And say hello. You guys sound like a great bunch of people. Can't wait to get my chicken's. And to Bobo mom. I'm sorry. I lost my favorite doe, jingles. Paid the vet $250. Bottle feeding her twins now. Have gotten resourceful with babies. Can't afford vet for babies going through it now.

Do you have any idea why you are having trouble with frothy bloat?

I went out this morning to find d my 1 week old nigerian dwarf had what seemed to be frothy bloat. I brought her into the laundry room in a dog crate and fed her a spot full of baking soda while I went out to buy some anti gas/ antacid meds. The frothing has stopped, and she is now fussing about being locked in a crate
I read to offer hay for her to eat, but no water for 12 hours.
I am new to goats so would appreciate any help anyone may offer. Going to get some lamb and kid paste for her this evening.

I'm not meaning to be a no-it-all I just have sympathy for these animals with bloat. My sister's husband uses the well known method of bi-carb. soda. A human remedy also. My Mother with painful digestive hyaetis hernia attacks would take 1 tspn of Slippery Elm Pwdr. mixed with water or cordial. It is a digestive tract conditioner. Pain would stop & indigestion seizing stopped. And recently I need to take laxatives that give bloat. Bloat feels worse than people imagine. I googled furiously & saw Fennel Seeds (1 tspn. infused tea in 3 min) ate seeds also & I was amazed, the bloat disappeared quickly. It would be good if you had syringe on hand. All syringes I've seen only have a tiny outlet only meant for fluid. You would know how to administer to a goat. In a dire emergency these couple of things may work if all else lost or better, WITH your other remedies. They do with humans. Both suggestions certainly couldn't do any harm.
