I'm on day 21 now and can only see the air sac no movement no noise nothing I did the water test today three out of the four have passed this so called water test but I don't think it shows what's alive or not lol who knows I've left them alone since and did one last candle on them but still no movement I've played hatching youtube videos and held to my ear but don't want to mess with the incubator or them anymore then that I going to leave them in untill some time next week before disposing of them I've left some photos to see what you lot think literally so disappointed I truly believe non will hatch at all out a total of six aswell I was hoping for at least one or two I have my camera on the incubator now so I don't have to get them out as I no lockdown should have taken place and I've messed that up being overly worried etc their incubation was the 13th of Feb

I placed them into incubation the 11th
Of February
The water test is unreliable and can harm chicks.
What day did you set?
And yes I agree it didn't sit well with me tbf but I was simply going off loads of different avenues on what to do really and the most done thing or test was this but ay ho you live learne I suppose I've had chicks before but never hatched my own and it got a little confusing with all of the different advice forms out there etc

Sorry just looked it was the 13th it was
Okay so they are on day 20/21 depending on what time you set them. I would candle again tonight to see if any have pipped internally. I haven’t had good luck with chicks that don’t pip internally - they usually don’t make it even if helped. It is possible though that your incubator was at a slightly lower temp and so they are a day or two behind. I would keep an eye on them. If they internally pip, then they need to externally pip within 24 hours. If you notice that one has internally pipped, I would start slowly helping it out if it didn’t externally pip within 24 hours. I hope you end up with some chicks!

I consider the water test a desperate last second effort if the eggs are way overdue and you just can't stand to throw them away. It is not going to help them hatch. As long as the eggshell is not cracked and the water temperature is around 100 Fahrenheit it should do no harm but it is an opportunity for something to go wrong, just like any other time you handle them. Since you are putting them in water it can remove the bloom and allow bacteria inside. I would only use that test as a desperate measure. The odds are you did no harm but I don't like taking that chance.

Tuesday February 11. The 21 days were up , OK I saw the change. Thursday Feb 13. The 21 days are up today, March 6. It is not unusual for eggs to hatch as much as 2 days early or late.

You had 3 positive results out of 4 eggs. The test is actually fairy reliable if done right. Hopefully those eggs are back in the incubator. Please keep your hand off for another couple of days and let us know what happens.
