Hello everyone,
Me and my family have kept chickens before but got rid of them all and were chickenless for 4 years. But this year for my birthday I was able to get 4 barred rock hens who are currently 6 months old whose names are Daisy, Maggie, Sasha, and Poppy. Each with their own adorable personalities. My favorite thing about my hens is that they can be wandering far from me but when they see me, they all come running and I love gathering eggs each morning (makes me feel self sufficient lol).
Some of my other hobbies include crocheting, knitting, sewing, just started gardening this year (was epic fail but still love it), Sourdough, just made my first cheese and butter yesterday.
I have been following threads on BYC for a while and love all the advice and tips on here, but I guess the big reason to me joining is to find other people who love homesteading, and a simpler life as much as I do.
