Goodness! Such a surprise! I was offline for a bit, helping make the rounds in the bitter cold to check each coop and pen. I came back in to warm up, got this news and I'm numb, but not from the cold!

Thank you all so much! I'll do my best to be a great mod. It'll take time to learn all of this, but I have some great teachers!

Congrats, Debbie. We haven't "met" because these days I mostly stick to my long running threads unless someone tags me for advice, etc. I have to say I've "been there, done that" job for a few years. It's an interesting job, at times challenging, to say the least. BYC has been my home from before Rob bought it and revamped it into the huge web presence it is today and I guess I'll be here until I kick the bucket, LOL. Best wishes! We're VERY excited to announce and welcome a member of our amazing community to our moderator team!

Over the years, our team has refined the process of choosing new moderators. BYC has so many wonderful members from which to choose that it makes the process challenging! The process starts withy the existing team of moderators submitting names and narrowing down to a handful of members that we then keep a closer eye. We look for members that are consistently very active, passionate about our community, extremely helpful, and have shown a very consistent level-head.

After keeping a close eye on the peeps, we narrow our view even tighter, make a selection(s), and then we send them an email and ask them if they would be interested in joining our moderation team. If they are interested, we then ask them a litany of questions to make sure they are on the same page with our rules, moderation policy, and everything else that is asked of them. We want to make sure our new moderators can live-up to the incredible examples set by our existing and previous team-members!

Well, we're super happy and glad that our invitation has been accepted, and they have passed our rigorous testing!!!
