New cases of vND detected in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties

If you mean the San Fernando Valley where I'm located, there haven't been any to my knowledge. We're well removed from the hot zones. And blessedly! Also, if you note the latest stats I posted on the first page of this thread all of LA County is well down in detected cases and has had none in the most recent reporting.

I was tremendously relieved to see that myself. The way reporting lumps San Bernardino, Riverside and LA Counties I had formed the impression that we were in a more precarious position. Still, I'm grateful for all the steps CDFA & USDA take to keep it that way!

This item from Food Safety News gives us a different perspective on how widespread the infection is by highlighting the number of facilities where vND has been diagnosed:

The U.S. Department of Agriculture has since May 18, 2018, confirmed 440 premises in California as infected with Virulent Newcastle disease (vND), including:
• 139 in San Bernardino County,
• 256 in Riverside County,
• 44 in Los Angeles County,
• one in Ventura County, and
• one in Alameda County.

The federal agency also found an infected premise in Utah County, UT, and another in Coconino County, AZ.

I tampered with the format for clarity but didn't change the actual text.
