First time raising baby chicks and couldn't find the answer with my forum searches so any help would be appreciated!

We just brought home 3 week old chicks and got them situated. After doing some research, I decided to use a MHP for warmth but the person that we bought them from used a heat lamp. The chicks are huddled together in a corner and haven't gone near the MHP. We have them in a dark room now and I can hear some chirping but not a ton. I checked the temp of the heating pad and it's around 82 degrees. I tried raising up the entrance a bit as well. I'm worried they don't know how to use it since they're used to another heat source. Advice?

What are the ambient temperatures in the brooder outside of the MHP? At 3 weeks old they may not want it at all.

You can try tucking them under it now that it's dark, but if they crawl out on their own, just leave them be.
Around 73 degrees right now. I waited until they were sleepy and tried to put them under but they ran back out. They're not chirping and seem pretty content in their pile so I'm going to leave them be. Thanks!
