New curtains...your nest box needs some

Well this was before my upgrade. Homemade curtains by someone who doesn't know how to sew (me!)! :lau The chickens were getting all tangled in the curtains. They were coming off the hooks. They were a mess. I started having to go outside and put a cardboard barrier in front to keep the nesting girls from being bothered. So we figured it was time for a proper curtain upgrade!

The picture with the cardboard looks like you propped a children's book for her to read while she's in there. 🤣

I like your spirit.!! Colorful choice!

We just got some chicken curtains for our coop. Wanted to share pics because they turned out so cute!

Two for the windows to block out sun. And a matching smaller scale print for the nest boxes. The curtains have completed eliminated any chasing, bullying, fussing, piling in. If you don't have curtains on your nest box I highly recommend!
The curtains are so cute! I was always planning to have some nest box curtains but never got around to it. How did your chickens adjust to the change? I feel like mine would be freaking out!

Feed bags sure come in handy for all sorts of projects. I've also used them as a . . . temporary cover over a quarantine pen (which was a fail :D)
I’m surprised that was a fail. I made a temporary coop for my 3 pullets last year, set up beside the adults’ tractor inside a poultry netting run, by covering a large dog crate with feed sacks.

I wrapped the sides & back with strips of sack cut to match the height of the walls and fastened with duct tape and mini bungee cords. I stood a 2 x 4 or 2 x 6 on edge to form a ridge pole so the roof would slope and draped a few thicknesses over that, anchored with the bungees. I wouldn’t say it was pretty, but it worked for several months as the two flocks integrated. It stayed dry inside. Not the most secure, but my predator pressure has been very low at least so far.

I’m surprised that was a fail.
Only because the bag wasn't really fixed to anything, just placed over the top of the pen. Then, when the chicken decided to jump out, she knocked the bag right into the pen. The fail was more in the "engineering". 🤣
But, I've used them tied around the bottom border of a brooder pen to keep the little ones from poking out and that's worked.
