Hi All,
My name is Carly and apparently I have a new duck
Someone threw her into an inescapable concrete run off pond at my work and she swam for 2 days before I could reach in and pull her out. She is very sweet and follows me around everywhere I go now.
I brought her home and set her up with a coop, pool, and actual feed. We are working on building a safe run for her, but it will come in time. She is now safely kept under my quarantine eye and our fenced in yard.
I have attached pictures
Her name is Margaret "Maggie"

I have never owned water foul, so I am new to this community but I am dedicated to giving her the best possible life I can. Any advice will help

That's awesome, I'm so glad you rescued her. She's gorgeous. I can't understand how someone could do something like that. I'm glad she's found a happy home. Ducks are extremely social and hate being alone, so you probably need to find a duck friend for her too.

We are actively looking for her a friend. Do you think she would be better with a male or female?

The proper ratio for males to females is something like one male to every 3-6 females. If you just get another female or two your life will be easier. Thank you again for doing such a wonderful thing for her - she's a beauty!

What a great story and I just love happy endings. :love
So glad you rescued her...that is worth a few heaven points, right there! :D

That’s awesome!
she’s a cute lil duck. and good she feels safe with you too. As others have said, keep her safe and she could use a friend or two. I have 2 ducks and they are inseparable.
Make sure her coop is safer from predators and keep an eye out for things like hawks when she is out of it til she gets her run.
Ducks rule and she will provide you with no end of amusement
