Just got my first 12 chicks about 6 weeks ago. I currently work at a local feed store and finally got suckered in. I pretty much got two of each breed speckled susssex, buff Orpington (sadly we lost one), barred rock, salmon faverolles, Easter eggers and golden laced wyandottes. I’m jumping into this with a lot of knowledge but having the hardest time figuring out if all my chicks are pullets but I find that to be pretty common here. Outside of chickens I love my garden and spending time at the beach!

I couldn't work at a feed store because I would want to bring home chicks every single week! Congrats on holding out for as long as you did, and on "finally" giving in

Sorry you lost one of the Buffs. But, what a great mix of breeds in your flock!

I hope someone can help you figure out chick genders. If I was good at that, I wouldn't be rehoming two roosters!!
