New Infraction / Warning System - Points for rule violations

Wow... sad that you have to use a point system. The rules seem pretty straight forward to me. I read "no foul language". But "fowl language" is still permitted, right? Sorry, just had to post that pun... hope you don't give points for a bad sense of humor

I see a potential problem already. Rule # 13 regarding religious or polital posts could be considered confusing. The rule states that these types of posts are "discouraged" and should be kept in the Random Rambling section. How can you assign points for something that is not "disallowed"? Any issues in such posts would probably fall under a different violation anyway.

Sorry if you were not looking for feedback. The "troubleshooter" in me is hard to keep quiet.

Honestly, this system is mostly to help our moderators with organization. Our community is HUGE and every large community needs rules and a way to keep record of problems.

We're VERY fortunate that relative to the huge number of members and daily posts, we have relatively few problems, especially compared to most other internet communities, discussion boards, forums, etc.

We have a LOT (vast majority) of fantastic and wonderful members... and a few bad ones.

Unfortunate, but something you have to do. I compliment BYC and its moderators for maintaining a positive environment in the forums. Being new to chickens, the majority of what I have learned have been through these forums and the people who have so willingly taken the time to answer my questions or concerns.
