I need a home for two Roosters. They are lovable and have their own quirks. But my township does not allow Roosters. I don't want to lose my right to have chickens, but they are really loud, and I have had several neighbors complain. I had them as chicks so I did not know they were Rooster. They are approaching 3 months. Please help Someone in NJ.

Before Covid I bought one silkie chick from this place for $8 and I recently contacted them and now for one silkie chick it’s $35. I was not expecting that. I wanted to get my single silkie some friends her size but I really want to find something affordable.

Yes, sadly prices have gone up drastically. It’s true everywhere. But I will never purchase from anywhere else but V&R! I have never been disappointed in my chickens from there. I recommended them to my sister. She went somewhere else in North Jersey not far off. She didn’t get quite what she was asking for. She had insisted on pullets only. of course she ended up with a rooster and he’s a mean son of a gun! The place where she bought him will not take him back and exchange him for the bullet she had requested. I have always been able to go to V&R and return accidental cockerels in exchange for pullets of equal value.

Apparently they stopped doing the rooster return (bio security concerns). Instead they let you use their seat at the livestock auction.

Does anyone know where I can find Azure Blue pullets for sale? Also looking for Leghorns that are laying or near laying age. Or if anyone would like to do a swap with me, I have 3 beautiful black austrolorps that are 16 weeks, so close to laying.
