Hi, I’m still looking for a loving home for this little boy! He will come neutered with his distemper and rabies vaccines. He is 7 weeks old now but by the time i get him neutered he will be 15 weeks (august)

Thought I'd throw NJ into the mix!
I'm in central NJ, former guardian to a wonderful roo and hen. Sadly, she died in November and he was so depressed. He had taken such exemplary care of her - she was treated like a princess. The coop was on property not mine and the owners didn't want more chickens so I searched and searched for a good home and adopted him out in November. Things were wonderful until recently, when the young hens there began attacking him badly. He is so gentle and loving to hens that he doesn't fight back. I have been asked to take him back (with a hen along for to keep him company) and am scrambling to figure out the building of a safe outdoor run on my property as I am no longer able to be home at dusk like I managed to do before. These people are also no longer comfortable feeding him the special things a roo needs to stay healthy (I had him on a combo of wild game bird food, sunflower seeds, scratch, fruits, veggies, and Avia Charge 2000 in water. He refuses layer food).. Ideally I need a wonderful home for him with someone who is like many of us on BYC who will pull out all the stops to provide good care. A place with no other roos and no crazed attacking hens. Refined gentle adult hens. He needs an understanding soul who can help him adjust and who wouldn't mind my helping at first (he's been through so much in such a short time). It is extremely difficult for me to have chickens at this time but it looks as though I have to get him out of there promptly.
Hello,
About a month ago this beautiful goose happened upon our property. We have a pond and some land and I think she felt comfortable here. I work from home and spend time with Goose throughout the day. She was very scared of me at first but has since become calm. I can pet her and I think she enjoys the company (and I enjoy hers!)
However, I am afraid she is quite lonely and I would have no idea what to do when winter comes. Can someone help me with the following?

- The gender of Goose is not verified but others have suggested she is a she.
- Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can find Goose a new family to live with (one that doesn't have the intention of eating her)?
Thank you for any help you can provide.
Cristina
Sorry. I can’t help. I don’t have an incubator. I have read on BYC about people doing what you are thinking about but that is as far as my knowledge goes!Anyone in Warren County New Jersey able to help me out? I'm in need of a small incubator this weekend for only a few days. My first time mama hen is sitting on a mix of eggs that won’t hatch together. I’m probably going to lose 2 or 3 because of some sneaky hens adding to the clutch after she had started sitting. They will probably be abandoned by mama once the early hatchers move on. My thought was to borrow an incubator to finish the hatch and then hopefully pop them back under her. I hate to lose them. She is sitting 10. 1 is a dud. 1 might have quit. And a few are just not as developed. This is todays video of what I belive is day 18. If anyone has a small incubator they don’t mind lending ( and telling me how to use it, I’ve never incubated, always let mama handle it) I’d be really grateful.
Oh, and do you think my plan would work? I’m in Great Meadows.
Thanks for responding. Good to know someone saw this. Thanks for the good wishes. I’ll be posting any outcomes on my thread in the hatching section.Sorry. I can’t help. I don’t have an incubator. Good luck.
Did you have any luck? I‘m in the same situation but since I figure it’s an odd request and would end up being expensive, I assume I’d have to give them away instead. I have 9 hens also…not a small number.Would anybody be willing to care for 4 friendly hens for a few months? We're going to be moving, and I expect things will go more smoothly if I don't have them here. I'm in Bergen County, but am willing to bring them pretty much anywhere within NJ.
I found a friend of a friend in Maryland who was willing, but ended up keeping them in my school's garden/park. I had to build a run, but it worked out well -- I was able to see them and care for them, the kids liked them, and the garden manager got eggs. I also let them out for an hour or so daily to eat the bugs.Did you have any luck?
