we are only allowed two chickens and no roosters
Two chickens is a ridiculous, unrealistic number for a limit to anyone that knows anything about the welfare of chickens. They are flock animals and need to be in a flock. If one bird dies, the other one is left without a "flock".

Sorry that's so upsetting to you. I'm just telling our city rules, not saying everyone around town follows them. The people around the corner have 6 chickens. I think it's more of what neighbors are going to rat you out.

It's not upsetting her; it's totally ridiculous that people who don't know squat about chickens make laws and ordinances for those of us that do. It's just frustrating that normal folks wanting to raise a few chickens have to deal with such ignorance.

I'm glad it works out for you, though! I suppose I'd give eggs to all the neighbors if I were in that predicament. ;)

Yeah, I totally get it. That is my exact thought about the neighbors. I'm glad we're close and get along and hopefully later down the road could bring eggs and keep them hush hush lol. I'm also glad I live on a dead end street with no neighboring houses behind ours;)
