New member in SE Michigan

(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
This is our first flock.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We decided to go all in and acquired SIX (6) 1 day old chicks. They are now between 5 and 6 weeks.

(3) What breeds do you have?
They are Rhode Island Reds!! Such pretty little birds.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
Respect for the breed as pets and healthy egg production.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I knit winter hats and scarves, paint, use the 'death machine' with my husband to do fractal burning (his name for it). We also, as a family, invest in housing for low income singles or families.

I love these answers! Not trying to be rude, but did you mean to post them on your introduction thread? Maybe a mod can move it or if you still had the option, to? Not a worry, anyhow.

Great to get to know you better!

Welcome to BYC!

Would you mind reposting this as a fresh post though? That way we'll all see it better as we have a bunch that love to welcome new members!

Just go here, hit Post Thread, and paste this post there. :)

Edit: Nevermind me suggestion posting again here as @Jener8or pointed out you had already and perhaps you meant to be in the Michigan thread. It's all fine though!
