I found BYC when reviewing opinions about breeds of chickens I was looking to get, known about BYC for only a couple weeks now.

I want some advice about chickens!

I hopes that's a good introduction
Welcome. My advice, start with a small number of chickens, meaning, if you think your coop and run is big enough for 10, get 4-5. After having the 4-5, I think you will find you need even more space. To keep them safe, use 1/2 inch hardware cloth to cover every hole in the coop and run that is bigger than a 1/2 inch.

As far as chicken selection, I would highly recommend the speckled and light sussex chickens.

Here is the new flock:

They will be free ranging the garden from next month
