Welcome. My advice, start with a small number of chickens, meaning, if you think your coop and run is big enough for 10, get 4-5. After having the 4-5, I think you will find you need even more space. To keep them safe, use 1/2 inch hardware cloth to cover every hole in the coop and run that is bigger than a 1/2 inch.Hey all, first post here so go easy on me!

Brings back childhood memories of growing up around chickens on my parents small hold

I'm into football, rugby and general gardening/vegetable growing

No other pets at the moment, I have a wife and two children
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I found BYC when reviewing opinions about breeds of chickens I was looking to get, known about BYC for only a couple weeks now.
