(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Hello, our names are Lisa and Jay and we live in Massachusetts. We are relatively new to chickens and have only had our flock for about 2 years, we are enjoying everything about our back yard flock.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
We have around 30 chickens at this time.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Buff orpingtons, Bramahs, silkies, and rhode island reds
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They are just all around friendly little things, the eggs they produce are just an added bonus.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
We love music, concerts and animals. We have 8 parrots as I (Lisa) just love any and all birds, And currently raise and sell french bulldogs.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We own a tattoo shop in central massachusetts, all our kids are out of the house the youngest getting her Masters at MGH right now, have, Parrots dogs and chickens and all our kids think we're nuts but have no problem enjoying the eggs our ladies produce.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I was looking for a forum online to learn and offer tips and suggestions I need and can share and came across this one. I thank you for letting us join.
