Thoughts? Here we are starting day 5 of corid treatment. Directly under Chloe's perch (the barnvelder blue). She's very active and seems normal, just has a bleeding out the butt problem.... :barnie

Ok so I need to treat for nacrotic enteritis. I read in a post to treat with neomycin, but can't figure out if I can buy that at the store now based on the new FDA regulations. Tomorrow would be day 6 of corid. So should I still treat for corid but go down from 2 tsp per gallon to one? If only one pullet had the NE, do I treat both with neomycin?

First you need to find exactly what is ailing your bird, a fecal test might do the trick.

If the corid hasn't stopped the symptoms, it may have a strain of cocci that is not affected by that drug.

Contrary to popular belief, Corid does not treat all strains of coccidiosis. :( It would be best to have a vet check a really fresh stool sample, and even better if they could do an exam on one doing the shedding. If they suspect coccidiosis they will probably have you try a sulfa drug. If they suspect NE, who knows, lots of drugs can be used to treat that.
