I have some exciting news to share! So get cozy and read my adventure!
So it all started when I was deep in the trenches of the Internet, when I came across this add for really fluffy chickens. I knew that I wanted to have some of these adorable fluff balls! So I ended up buying five silkies. Over the course of four years they got sick and got picked off by predators. So late last summer I bought three silkie eggs to incubate... Two ended up hatching out, and I thought these would do great. So I grew them out in the garage, and even built a huge chicken mansion to move them into. Fast forward two months and they both end up dying of an unknown cause. At that point I was ready to give up, nothing was working! I could hatch and raise egg layers, but not silkies.
Well a couple of weeks ago I had seen an ad on Craigslist for silkie roosters. I got the great idea to buy one! So fast-forward to today, I went to this lady's house, she was super sweet and cared about her birds so much! She invited us in her house to come look at her birds, when we went into her living room she had a tent set up with a divider in the middle. On one side she had adult hens, and on the other she had around seven pullets and cockerels. She proceeded to open the tent and I immediately fell in love! I stayed there for an hour just talking about chickens with her, and how they are such fun animals to have! Of course after holding them I wanted to buy every single one. I only planned on getting one, but chicken math is real okay
I ended up buying two, and they are the sweetest things ever! I attached some photos below
