I haven't heard that the law actually passed. It's been in the works for years but never makes it to the table. Where did you hear this? Also I am not so sure it will override the HOA rules so make SURE before you start building a coop.Hello from Houston Texas. Thinking about getting a few hens for eggs. Want to do it right and know how to properly feed and care for them. Concerns about extreme heat and increasingly freezing winters. Please welcome this newbie. I already see lots of wisdom for my chicken journey, and look forward to learning a LOT. My HOA said no poultry, but...Texas passed a law allowing up to 6, so residents can raise them in the backyards. Like others who have posted here, I will be checking to make sure I go about things right. Pretty sure I can have 3-4 hens now. Both political parties seem to agree. They are keenly aware that egg prices went up about 138% in a year. After all, who doesn't like a good egg?
