Yes it is a chain link fence we used for our dogs originally. We had to put up chicken wire on top and on the back, but we will need to refigure this out as with a tarp on top and just a PVC pipe brace across the top, it is not sturdy enough with rain we just found out.

One of my bantam runs is a dog kennel with hardware cloth from top to bottom. I bought an A frame topper for it and covered that with hardware cloth, then added the tarp that came with the frame. Its held up to rain and high winds for the last 7 years. Mine is Stephen's Pipe brand sold at Tractor Supply.
Another thing you will need to address is the space around the door/gate to your kennel. I built a frame around mine to keep snakes, rats, & weasels from squeezing through.

Thank you for the info on the frame topper. We don't usually see snakes in the back yard because of our dog stays out there. I will need to make sure that rats don't get in it.
