New York to get the "Enterprise"

As long as it's in the USA. That's all that really matters. We all contributed to the program. We all felt the loss of the 2 shuttles regardless of what state we lived in. The shuttle program was one of the very few things the country seemed to come together over. I'm sure the technicians that worked on it or built it have a more special bond to it.

Makes sense that the 2 most populous states in the country should get one of them. Most likely, more people will get to view them that way.

Actually it's a really cool place to visit. Wouldn't want to live there but visiting is always fun. They got the best bagles around.

*shudder* Not me. I have no desire to get within a 500 mile radius of NYC. Gives me the shivers just thinking about that hornet's nest.

It is a great place to visit. you can't beat the food any where in the 50 states. And as for entertainment well its out of this world. But I could never and I do mean never live there.

Yup you are correct. You honestly cant get better bagels anywhere and the pizza is the best! Pizza places claim the secret is in the water from the NYC reservoir system which is up in my neck of the woods.

I would love to live near NYC. I used to work for Color Tile and remodeled about 15 of their stores in the 5 Burroughs up there. We went to NYC many times. We also opened 2 stores in Manhattan and stayed at the Milford Plaza. That was a blast. Couldn't afford the shows, but we had a lot of fun anyway. Did DC the same way. IMO your life isn't complete without visiting places like that. What's the name of that Deli that serves the sandwiches that are too big to eat. Has pictures of a lot of famous people everywhere. Of course that seems like it applies to all the restaurants up there. It's bizarre walking down a street and looking up at skyscraper after skyscraper and counting the floors and realizing they are all 70 stories or higher. It's a different world up there.

I love the whole New England area. The trees are unreal during the fall and all the old buildings with plaques on them dating back before the country was actually formed. Neat stuff.

Thank you for the beautiful comments about the area I live in. I believe the deli you are thinking of is Sarges in midtown. They have the best pastrami sandwiches and yes they are huge!

I think that was it. We used to go out to dinner with a contractor that did the actual structural work on the buildings we were remodeling. NYC has a lot of inspections and labor procedures that require a big wad of cash if you know what I mean. He took us to a lot of nice places. Pastrami is what I had that day. I could only eat half of it. I swear it was about 4" thick. He was Italian so he knew a lot of really good Italian places. I can't believe how much food they bring to the table. It was fun driving in Manhattan too. Parking was really the pits though. I parked illegally about a block from the twin towers and watched a parking cop put a ticket on my rental from the observation floor in the east tower. Those towers were awesome. Can't believe what happened to them. Just a big hole in the skyline now. The city looks incredible from the Triburough bridge. I think that was the name.

Yes its named the Triborough bridge, as for the towers I have eaten in Windows Of The World on the 106th and 107th floors in the north tower. The view was amazing and the food was the best I have ever had. Very pricey though.

But I'm glad I can say that I ate there. What a sad day 9-11 was. I understand exactly what you mean by " a big wad of cash"
