New to owning chickens and need suggestions for my first coop. I don't have to worry about predators where I am from and I have a safe yard. (Hawaii)
I can't afford to pay hundreds of dollars for a coop but would like some easy DIY ideas to put one together. Would love some suggestions. Thank you!

I suggest searching open air coops to get an idea of what you'll need in your climate. Open air coops are basically just a run with nesting boxes and a sheltered roosting area.

Depending on how many chickens you have (or plan to have) plan on spending at least $200 on a coop. You can reduce the cost by using reclaimed materials such as pallet wood and used roofing panels.

Thank you for the suggestion! In my area I am only allowed 2 chickens. I'll look into that for sure.

Only two chickens? Well, that's sad, but it makes it easier! Have you checked local classifieds for things like cheap dog houses and kennels?
I haven't thought of that. 🤔 I figured I would ask here since I was stumped for ideas like this 😅 So a dog house and kennels could work as a chicken coop? I'll look into that too!
