We were at Tractor Supply one day the week oh July 4 and they had $1 chicks. We came home with 6.

(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
I like the ‘garbage disposal’, bug eaters, and my own ‘home grown’ eggs. I also love to hear the chickens.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I am a quilter and a gardener.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am a nurse that works from home. I have 2 boys and 2 grandchildren. The grandchildren love the hens!!
I have 2 cats. My big cat is 16# and he looks after the hens. When I let them out to free range(only when I am outside watching them) he is their shepherd.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
I have been googling questions and found you that way. I joined after an attack on my hens last night.
