Newbirb here, hope to learn about quail!

I forgot to mention I impulse purchased six bobwhites. I think I have two males and four females. If you plan for more quail, make sure you plan your coop specific to that breeds needs.

That’s cool, did you get eggs from them? I think bobwhites are pretty quail but sounds like people like people go for coturnix more for eggs?

I don’t know but I think couternix are more prolific layers. My bobwhites aren’t laying yet. The males aren’t fighting either thank goodness!
 
You should go back to that friend and get a female. Bobwhites need to live in pairs, 1 male to 1 female, and don't get along well with others. As such, they aren't very good for eggs, since each pen can only have 1 female.

If you want a flock of quail together, you want coturnix. They live in flocks, in fact they need to be kept in flocks to do well.
