I'm looking at a newfie mix, he looks a lot like a newfoundland, when mixed with a newfie do they tend to take on the newfs temperment? I really want this dog, but my dad is afraid of what he may be mixed with, I guess herding dog or something, I think he looks like a pure newf but then again the pic is not all that good.

We have a Newfie and Chow Chow mix. He is the sweetest dog. Found him and his brother as pups when someone dumped them. Both were very good dogs. Lost the brother 3 years ago. The remaining one is just a butterball but puts up a good front as a watch dog. Nobody will come in our yard because there is this big black dog barking menacingly at them. Little do they know that he would only lick them to death.

I bet he's adoreable!
This one is only 15 wks old so I'm hoping to introduce him to my flock

and all go well, from the rescue ladies description he sounds very laid back. I've never owned any other large breeds except for Pyr mixes so this will be a change things work out!

A friend of mine used to breed and show Newfies. I loved her's. They were layed back dogs. I'm not sure how that mix would work out, but I think it should be fine. I would use a Newfie mix for a farm dog.

I have several Newfie mixes. One here looks alot like a yellow Lesser Newfoundland Dog (Yellow Lab), The other is alot like a Newfie with a bit of pit. Both are GREAT guard dogs. And fun to be with. Stick to me like glue. IF you can get one, I would!

Here is a pic of our Newfie/Chow Chow mix (the black one). He is 9 1/2 years old, weighs about 65 pounds and looks all newfie other than size and he has the black chow tongue.
