hey so as you guys know my 3 month old duck had a pretty bad case of niacin deficiency. she wouldn’t walk or move around. recently about two weeks ago she was out back with the flock and she still sleeps inside as i im still trying to integrate her (i want her stronger if she’s going to spend the night with all of them) she seemed to be over the niacin deficiency (i gave her niacin supplements as well as other vitamins in a vitamin pack i got at my local farm store. and ive been putting peas and nutritional yeast in her food. she seemed great the last few days but yesterday and today her feet seem almost pigeon toed again. i’m not really sure what to do. i think it’s been a little over two weeks since i started treating her i read she’s supposed to get better after 7 days. i really have nothing else to give her. i also do 20 min of water therapy with her twice a day in a large rubber maid. i’m getting a little doubtful. any advice or tips would be great. i’ve never dealt with this before so if this is something that happens normally during the healing process let me know. i also read that she might just have a funny walk now if it wasn’t treated fast enough but i think i treated it the day after i noticed. thanks !

What makes you think she has a bad case of niacin deficiency?
Are you sure it isn't suffering from something else?

Can post a few clear pictures of her standing on her own or a video?
Also, what feed are you feeding her?

I agree it is possible that is possible that something else is going on so videos would be helpful.

Also, niacin deficiency cannot necessarily be cured in 7 days. Depending on the severity of the deficiency and how long it has been going on, it can take weeks to treat. In really sever cases, which doesn't sound like your case, there can irreversible damage.

she gets really bad pigeon toed and has a wobbly walk. she used to just sit at the feeder cause she couldn’t walk. she’s outside with the others now and she’s walking with them. also when i started giving her niacin she started walking and running again. i’ll insert pics soon!

i noticed her having problems and treated it the second day after. i’ve posted pics and such here before and it sounds and looks like it.

it was a video! i don’t know why i don’t see it there. i for some reason can’t upload a file at the moment! its not letting me upload the video. if i had to explain it its almost like a wobble when she walks and she’s crisscrosss her feet over eachother. i was also told on her to hold her up and see what what her feet go. im not sure if its accurate but her feet look similar to this when she stands. almost like the go over top of eachother. she also isn’t very fast, i can catch her easily. sorry i wish the video would load to explain better.
