This thread is to track my progress and the beginning of my journey in breeding true, purebred ameraucanas. As of now, I only have a blue pullet, a black pullet, and a black chick, but I will be getting a blue cockerel soon. I will probably start to breed them next year. For now I will just post pics of my ameraucanas and ramble about them.
(@wrathsfarm I saw you made a thread similar for your marans, so was wondering if you would be interested in this)

I'm not selling yet. Bartlett Chicken Ranch has them, but they are here in Nebraska and don't ship out of state. Cackle Hatchery has them, and they ship anywhere in the US

Hi Nicks_Chicks!

Dont know if you already know this, if so, sorry i repeated it. To keep your Ameraucana pure, you don't want to put your Lavenders with blue or splash. And once you get going on your lavenders, you don't want to keep any produced blacks from them in your blues, since they would be black split to lavender.

I'm just getting purebred Ameraucana again myself. I have 9 that are 6 weeks old. Mostly black, a few blues & 1 splash. When watching them yesterday, i was shocked at thinking they were all cockerels. I need to get individual pics to see what I have.

It looks like there is a breeder in NE that has NPIP that breeds both bantam & LF Ameraucana - The Ameraucana Alliance (ameraucana.org).

Just make sure you refresh the page before making a post. This happens to me alot on my phone because the page hasn't been updated a while. I think its anymore than 8 to 24 hrs. I just always refresh the page first before trying to post now.

I'm using firefox on my phone and there is a menu on the bottom right where I can pull up the reload button. I just use that button. Its a little circle with an arrow on it. Not sure what it is on a different browser. Also its best to use the site on a browser over the app.

I have chrome browser.

Usually use the app & until recently hadn't really noticed a problem.
