She is GORGEOUS. WOW!!!!!
I don’t suppose it was the attic rat?So, over the last few months I've been dealing with a very frustrating situation having a rat nesting in the attic space right above my office in the house. I heard up there scratching and digging and moving around and it drives me crazy! I've tried to plug all the points of entry, I've tried a ton of different traps, I've tried everything!
I got to the point where I was so frustrated that I joked with my girlfriend about putting the cat up in the attic with some water and telling her she couldn't come out (the cat, not the girlfriend) until she caught the rat. The girlfriend wasn't too happy about that idea.
A friend that lives around me said that they had success catching rats by putting tuna in the trap, so I figured I'd give that a try. So I went up into the attic with a small bag of tuna fish and baited the traps.
... unfortunately this introduced the wafting smell of tuna throughout the house, so when Kitty Meow Meow came into the house from her midday stroll, she started sniffing in the air and started meowing incessantly at us. She was on to us and wasn't going to relent until she got her tuna!
There was quite a bit of leftover Tuna from the bag, and I had unfortunately gotten it dirty, so we decided to put it in the freezer to keep it for future trapping.
Fast forward to tonight and after KMM's 9:00 pm feeding she went outside like she often does after she eats.
Exactly an hour later I heard loud meowing at the door and this is what I saw:

I can't help but think that her smelling the tuna inspired her to go find a rat to trade for some tuna! We try to treat her every time she kills a rat (often to distract her from it so she'll let it go and we can dispose of it... and also some reward / positive reinforcement) and now I'm wondering if it's just coincidence she caught a rat the same day I opened the tuna to use as rat bait?!?!?!
ugh, unfortunately noI don’t suppose it was the attic rat?
