It's a boy. Pointed hacked and saddle feathers.
well, its a year old, never any "cock a doodle dooing".Any idea why its not crowing? It has been run off by the others a lot though. Just recently in the past 3 months it has come more into the flock. I have never seen it try and mate at all. All the others bow to me. I will just have to keep my eyes peeled for any other signs. I will post with any other findings. Thanks for the info and the answers to my questions ahead of time.

Some roosters take longer than others to crow. Some rarely crow. Some don't crow at all. If he was ran off I suspect he's not the highest ranking chicken, even if it's a pullet higher than him. Some lower ranking roosters don't crow.

Oh wait.. I see what everyone said now..oh.. Nevermind. 😞 but.. But but but
.... I cant get rid of... Him... He's soooo sweet!!! He throws a tantrum when i leave and he follows me everywhere, cuddles on my lap, sleeps in my arms, and he is scared of other people and wont come when they call him. If i ended up getting rid of him, (which i guess i will have to if he's a roo) would he be stressed and get sick/not eat? We're very bonded to each other. He loves me as much as i love him.

And he's 16? 15? I think 16 weeks old now and hasnt started crowing... I dont have any other roosters, only hens, so he isnt the lowest ranking, so you'd think he'd crow? I've read people had a "rooster" and people were swearing up and down it was a rooster and they had 1 hen that layed 3 eggs a day, turns out, said rooster was actually a hen.. I guess anything is possible so I'll be keeping him/her until egg laying maturity. ...i guess you never know.. Dang, why is it so difficult to tell chickens genders??!
