No eggs at 8 months

My eight month old hen seems not to be maturing. She’s the only of our flock of 4 who hasn’t laid an egg. Her comb and waddles don’t seem to be growing or turning red and she’s showing no signs of being interested in laying. No checking out the nesting boxes, no submissive squat. All four hens eat All Flock. We’re in Colorado, so the others also took a while to start laying with the winter months, but I’m starting to worry about her.

How have you confirmed she doesn't lay?

I keep a close eye on them and know who is in the nesting box. I have looked around the yard for eggs, and keep any eye out when they’re free ranging. I guess anything is possible.

Based solely on her comb size and coloration she doesn't appear to be in lay. She might be a very slow maturing bird, and with short winter daylight hours, won't come into lay until closer to spring.

Or she could be a dud but I wouldn't count her out yet as she's still on the younger side.

She looks otherwise well developed and has healthy feathering.
I bet some supplemental lighting would bring her into lay fairly quickly. I did that this winter after a summer of broody slackers and it's helped even the young pullets who are just coming to POL age. I used a solar light from AMZN that has the solar panel separate so that is attached outside and the lights inside, and with the built in timer I set it to come on for 4 hours in the evening (to avoid early hours crowing / restlessness) and on the lowest brightness and yellowest color... this way they still go to roost and sleep with the light on.

Another thing to think about in your area is Vit D. We had another poster from Colorado that shared their story of figuring out their hens were D deficient. The sunlight is just different up there, as I'm sure you know. Add to that extra time spent in the coop due to weather and that Vit D is required to mobilize Calcium in the body for egg laying and bone building.
That member added Vit D to the feed and their egg problems resolved.
