SO i have Beebe which some of you might have read on a few of my posts. she has no feet!! and her 'brother' Rocky has no toes! both hate us looking and messing with them but they both walk well Beebe skips/hops. Rocky seems to have scabies on his bottom of one foot that seems to bug him a bit but not much. and Beebe has one on each stump but seems fine. Beebe goes out during the day and seems to move great and has fun being out with everyone but she stays away from them and hangs with her 3 month old babies. soon to be 25 little day old chicks for her.

anyone deal with footless or toe less chickens? anything special they need?

Rocky is normal size and is with the hens he does 'mount' them and such and runs around eating outside with everyone. but Beebe is half the size and still pale her two sisters have feet and are normal size and i think are laying!

Beebe is our mother hen and love the babies but Rocky hates them and tries to attack them.. this is Beebe a few days ago

I have not heard of this. Kudos to you for taking care of these special peeps.
She lost them during our winter very cold out and he did too. she spent months inside getting better just seeing if anyone else has any like them. and what they did to make life easier for them! as they cant roost and she cant climb our ramp to the roosts/sand area.

I have has birds that have lost toes and feet before. the harsh winters we have up here can sometimes cause frozen feet and they will loose them. Usually ours have gone on to lead fairly long lives without much special care,, they learn to adapt quickly. They may not mingle as much with the other birds in the flock,, but still get along with them. They can even roost if you give them a wider board to balance on,, like a 2by4 turned flat for a wider surface.

we have two size roosts. one 2 by 4 on the side and one flat for the chickens that prefer one way to the other. Beebe is very afraid of the other hens and rooster but loves her babies! i was hoping that her babies would help her and protect her from the other chickens..

North Dakota winters are harsh we got two heating pads. And try not to bing babies in the winter

Beebe Passed away yesterday we don't know why, we found her on her back. she was eating blueberries and drinking water, honking and all happy, yesterday morning and when we got home she was dead.
