Sorry for our absence lately! I know you were looking forward to Chuck and Buck’s parade debut but due to COVID, there was no pet parade . We still went camping though.... and actually went camping for a week vs just the weekend. (Kids on Christmas break, kind of close to home, and nothing better to do so why not?)
Two camping trips ago we learned that deer LOVE duck food. This past camping trip we learned that wild pigs do, too. Thankfully the boys sleep indoors and were already tucked in bed when we were sitting at someone else’s campsite and had our porch light on. They said, “Ummmm, there is something moving in your campsite” only to discover the wild pigs finishing off Chuck and Buck’s leftovers and drinking out of the boys’ kiddie pool. Gross. We spent the evening running the pigs off and even though we pick up all the boys’ stuff before bed, I stilled opened the RV door the next morning to a pig staring at me waiting for more.
We also discovered that Chuck loves going for bike rides. Buck does not. Ever see a kid riding his bike through the campgrounds holding a duck like a football? Definitely got strange looks.
Had a family with kids who saw us playing in the creek tell us that we weren’t the only people with ducks who camp. Thanksgiving week they saw some ducks up north camping that looked just like Chuck and Buck only to find out we must be on the same camping schedule because it was us they saw!
We had absolutely no reception and no way to post so here’s a few pictures from our New Years camping. We are heading out again this weekend for more bike rides and camping fun. Saturday Daddy Duck (James) and I are sneaking off in the morning for a quick Alcatraz swim (his 14th). Debating on if Chuck and Buck can handle the swim, too....Not too sure. Buck is a complete weenie in cold water. He was shivering in this creek and had to be wrapped in a blanket and snuggled for a good chunk of time after.
