Not my Morning- Caught a Raccoon, Make that Two

Wow. How many more do you think you have in the near vicinity? I guess you keep trapping until no more show up.

Good luck.

I'm going to echo the "keep on trapping 'til there's none left" statement. When coons broke into my coop and got some of my birds a few years ago, I ended up trapping a grand total of ten raccoons before the traps were left empty. You never know when it's a whole hungry raccoon family, so keep baiting those traps!

I was having predation problems and set a Havaheart trap. The first summer I caught fourteen raccoons and a number of possums, neighbors cats and two foxes! I've since kept the trap baited and will catch something almost once a month now, sometimes there will be a three or four day stretch with something every night.

P.S. I don't count the stupid Guineas that get caught and released, then after a couple weeks forget what the trap is and get caught again!

I actually plan to do that if I get one. At least use for cat/chicken food.

I had a whole FAMILY of 'em treed last Spring. I kept shooting pellets into them, I was really under-gunned and probably caused some awful wounds. They didn't come back though. They SIGH when they're up in a tree.

, I'll repeat what everyone have said keep those traps baited. Who knows how much intruders you will catch.
