Not urgent. Swollen eyes? Face?

Wild birds can carry it. You can carry it in on your shoes or clothes, like from going to the feed store or someone else's coop. It's even conceivable that she came to you with it, as it can be acquired through the egg. It's so common, a lot of flocks have it, and you wouldn't know unless you test, or have a flare up. You can't eat any chicken that you are treating with tylosin, but breeding for meat birds is ok.

I have found this as well from a different site. It's a powder but I have no idea how much is in one bag. SCRATCH that. Needs a RX.

And chewys needs a RX. (Insert eye roll--i get it but oye)

Still browsing while I'm at work
I think Allivet also requires an Rx, but you can try. I've used them before, and they want to contact your vet, but what I got, I knew that it was a prescription medication.

So as I sit with them I noticed this girl, really puffy eyes. I first thought it was because she was in the dust bath? And she was doing the neck stretch yawn.

And as I type this my son is like, that one always looks like that. But he would know more than me as he's always out here. But...

There's nothing in her throat. She's acting like a chicken, not slowing down, walking fine, eating drinking.

She is laying and did lay today-- son says she's the one that lays in the coop.

Maybe it's just the way she is? And the yawning is because she got dust?

I hope I got the same girl in last photo lol we have 7 buff Brahmas lol
hello, was wondering does she shake her head from side to side during or after the stretch yawn or intermittently?

hello my experience, in my flock, ive seen those 2 symptoms independent from each other at separate times. The eye swelling ended up trying to turn into Coryza which is an upper respiratory infection in chickens, and sometimes Quails, Pheasants....caught it in time to keep it from infecting the flock, very hot and humid in my area in the summer, this doesn't help. quarantined the 2 birds, and treated them organically with herbs and such, also used some VETrx as well and it cleared, hasn't resurfaced, the neck stretch yawn accompanied with the head toss from side to side happened to my 2 Jersey Giant rosters, quarantined those 2 and gave them organic herbal doses, turned out that in my rooster's they were gape worms, in each case cleaned out the runs, disinfected, laid down fresh clean bedding, roosters are fine now, just sharing my experience as an FYI with you, I learned much in this forum from people sharing they're experience's like this, helped tremendously by expanding my understanding and knowledge on many poultry related health issues, I myself, like you am in the habit of watching my flock closely and I know them, so the minute i notice even 1 of them is "off" I'm on it...I'm very grateful to the BYC family......Good Luck!
