:welcome This is a hard time to find chickens...good luck!

Is that your ad on CL? InHisService just sent it to me and I emailed back. I have five laying OE's for sale on the glens falls craiglist, nine months old.

Actually, they were chicks I bought from another BYC'er who had too many. Hatchery, from McMurray. I didn't even know for sure what they were, but the folks over at the langshan thread helped me out there. Really huge chicken compared to the others of the same age. Was worried it was a really late blooming roo, but she's laying now so no chance of that.

Here is a picture of the latest addition to our farm.

He was 4 weeks early, and came out on the 7th. He was 6 pounds 4 ozs, and we called him Fraser Cooper.

How long did it take for her to lay? I have a pullet who hatched prob in late April early May..the breeder wasn't sure how old they were when I brought them in early June. The roo crows, but no egg. I understand they are slow to mature..

I have two - one (the one in the pic) started laying about two weeks ago -might have been earlier based on her comb, but that's the first time I caught her in a nest box. She was born April 1 and has a big red comb and wattles. The other one, same hatch date, has much smaller comb/wattles and I do not believe she is laying yet.
