OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

This is what I am working on. The pond is on the right hand side of pic. It's about a quarter acre in size, with plans of expanding it to 2 acres. Anyways, was able to dredge and deepen the right section; the left section has cat tails which have grown to 15' in length!

Just checking in to see how everyone is doing. All this recent rain has hampered my efforts in trying to get my coops all winterized. On a side note note, the rain has helped my efforts in refilling the ponds that I expanded/dredged since the drought dried them up and allowed for me to drive my tractor right into the middle to dig deeper.
Glad you were at least able to dredge them. I had bought three Black East Indies ducks 6 weeks ago and ended up with three Hens which is almost a miracle for me. One has a tumor by her eye that she was born with but seems to be doing fine so I have left her live and will just see how she ends up. I had tried antibiotics and eye medication when I first got her as a day old duckling but nothing helped. She is in no pain however and eats and drinks fine so I have just left her with the rest of the flock and they all get along fine. I hope all of your animals are doing fine also Knobby. It was great to see you on here. Have a good day.

Cattails can be like weeds and literally take over a pond. They did my friend's and they had to get a small boat and pull them all out in order to get rid of them. Your pond looks great!!!

Well, you know, if you need to rehome the 3 drakes, contact me...hehe

Yeah, that's what I am thinking I'll have to do; once the pond fills up, I'll get in my boat and pull the rest of the cat tails up. Gonna take some time, but I've got that.

I am hoping to be alright. I have the three little Call Drakes and 16 Hens, all sizes. My Calls try to mate with my Khaki Campbell and Mallards and now I have the three Black East Indies girls that will be ready to mate by Spring plus all of the other Hens. Hopefully they will not pick on just one as two of them are 3 years old now and only one was this years hatch from Metzer Farms. I appreciate the offer though. I am hoping having only little Drakes now and all of those girls that Spring will go well next year.

The Marblehead Lighthouse. Been here many times and released my mother's ashes into the lake beside it. This was her favorite lighthouse, of course.
I remember my folks taking me to Marblehead to fish when I was small. We used to swim at East Harbor and Lake Erie was always our vacation spot each summer. What a neat place to set your Mom's ashes free. So sorry for your loss. Part of my brother's ashes went into Lake Erie as he loved to fish there too.

I love lighthouses! We actually were stationed at the Point Vicente lighthouse in Rancho Palos Verdes Estates in CA and it was the sight of many filming of movies. While living there, V-The Final Battle, Honolulu Run, Wonder Woman, Lethal Weapon, The A-Team, Santa Barbara, among other sets, were filmed. Got alot of autographs and pics with the stars.

Lighthouses are so Cool!!! I have always loved to look at them and we have bought pictures and even statues of them that were an end table for my brother before as he loved them also. That's great that you got to have that experience Knobby.
