You need to post a few pictures so our op can see why we all love your quail and pheasants.I love pheasants and quail, they were my 1st love....so I just raise them to keep pure lines and for personal enjoyment.
That is so cool. They are so beautiful and intelligent. And there is a lot to enjoy with them. When I talk to my Pretty Boy he comes over and tilts his head like he's looking at me and trying to figure it out. Sometimes he sits and makes this little purring noise. I worry that he's lonely. I'm hoping by the time it gets warmer I'll have better living arrangements for him. I have three acres and can put up a place for him. But I live out in the mountains and have Bobcat, coyotes, bear and foxes, racoons and such. I'm so worried for him being out even in a secure area.I love pheasants and quail, they were my 1st love....so I just raise them to keep pure lines and for personal enjoyment.
You can not free range pheasants....well, maybe once! They need to be housed in a well fortified enclosure, everything loves to eat pheasant. They will do better in pairs or a 1:5 , 1:6 ratio. That is so cool. They are so beautiful and intelligent. And there is a lot to enjoy with them. If I cannot find a suitable safe home for him I'll put up fenced in place for him and get a little hen for him. I just want him to be happy and safe. Just letting him go is not an option with him being blind and so friendly. I don't want some hunter to shoot him or some critter to make a meal of him.You can not free range pheasants....well, maybe once!
